What Do You Wish You'd Brought With You?

Hi all
Once again, hope I'm posting in the appropriate forum.
I've borrowed the idea in the title from another country site.
So ladies, what do you wish you'd brought with you when you
began living in AD? Can be anything you miss or stock up
on when you come back to the UK. Oh and for me it needs
to be UK products/things else it won't help me!
People on the other forum mentioned a potato masher,
another a potato peeler.
What should I definately not leave the UK without?
Thanks
Val

I second the breadmaker, and the potato peeler (as I mentioned that somewhere months ago on this forum - though have just seen that very type of peeler in the new Abela in KCA!!).
Anyway, I am just posting now, because, after a year here, I think that no matter how much stuff you bring, there will always be something that you can't get here, or if it can be bought here, you can't find it! The potato peeler is a good example - quite a trivial wee item, but I avoided peeling veges for months until I went home and bought a peeler I knew I would like - that's after buying several here!
Good luck.

real heinz baked beans - the heinz ones here taste different - and there's a film of liquid on top - which stupidly makes me shudder every time - i always forget to shake the tin
so we now have waitrose own brand ones which are closer - in fact with spinneys/waitrose supermarkets plus pandatwins' DH in Lulu - we do get a lot of UK goods here
jellytots - only ever found them here at christmas time
fruit gums
you can get most things here, they just may not always be in stock - just because you buy it one week/day doesn't mean it'll be there when you go back the next time but the time after that you may be lucky - that's maybe a bit frustrating - though things are definatley getting better than when we first arrived - swim nappies, for example, used to be out of stock for the whole summer but now they always seem to be around - my stock pile is still keeping me going as I got the reusable ones and learnt to wash the disposables with comfort!
lots of family photographs

Hair elastics/ bands..... the ones here last approximately 5 nanoseconds, then they are stretched and elastic-less. I always stock up back home in the summer, but no matter how many I buy, they have all disappeared by Xmas!!
Cards (birthday/ anniversary etc).... Hallmark suck!
Un-used photo albums, the only nice ones here cost roughly the same as a top of the range camera!!!
And i don't know why the other posters have failed to mention it, the MOST important things are:
a gazillion passport photos
a sense of humour
never-ending patience
and nerves of steel (for driving purposes).

I agree with the greetings cards..I bulk buy in the UK shops..way too overpriced here.
I ordered an egg poacher from Amazon and brought it back with me..I have never found a decent one here..my new one is cast iron with a glass lid and Teflon coated cups, so the eggs just glide out.
Books, Books and more Books..not such a good choice here and again..way overpriced.
Bongela for mouth ulcers.
Tins of Stewed steak for my son.
Hair dyes for blonde hair.
Most things are available here, they are just crazy prices..my friends Mum is bringing me a bottle of perfume from the UK next week because it's 600 Dhs here and only 70 quid in the UK.
BTW..Butterkist popcorn in Abela's for 16 Dhs a bag.
Jelly Tots mostly in Chiothrams.
